The situation

The rebuilt first-project flow has been in beta for six weeks. General availability is scheduled in six days. The announcement is queued, the partner blog post is scheduled, and two engineers booked leave on the assumption it lands.

Marisol · Product manager: “I’ve gone back and forth all week. Tell me what you want and I’ll make it happen.”

General availability is in six days. First say what six weeks of beta can support; then make the call.

What you can see

E01 · Beta numbers

40 accounts enrolled, opt-in from an in-app banner. 25 completed the new first-project flow within 7 days of signup: 62.5%. Median time to first project 11 minutes, with no comparable figure for the old flow. Four support tickets, all resolved.

E02 · The old-flow baseline

The dashboard says 'around half' for the old flow. That figure comes from a Q3 2024 report and the query behind it could not be found.

E03 · What people said

Six people replied unprompted, five positive ('much less faffing about'). Callum at Redbrick runs eleven sites and the new flow assumes one project at a time, so for him it is slower: he runs it eleven times. Marisol guesses multi-site accounts are 10–15% of the base but has not pulled the number.

E04 · What is committed

Marketing announcement queued, partner blog post written and scheduled (their calendar is booked to December), and two engineers on leave from the 15th. New signups are running about 90 accounts a month.

What can the beta numbers support?

Your first choice is kept. Changing your mind later counts as a retry.
